Chocolate Chip Cookies

The month of Ramadan started this week.  While fasting, I crave lots of delicious treats.  The first day, I was really craving chocolate chip cookies.  I went searching for a good recipe online.  I found this recipe that was highly rated by thousands of people.  I like my cookies soft on the inside and a little crispy on the outside, and this is the perfect recipe for those kind of cookies.  And the best thing was that I bake quite often so I had all the ingredients already at home.

Makes 24 cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (I omitted these because I did not have any at home)

Directions:
1. Preheat over to 350 degrees F
2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth
3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time
4. Stir in the vanilla
5. Dissolve baking soda in hot water.  Add to batter along with the salt.
6. Stir in the flour, continuing until the flour is all mixed in
7. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts
8. Drop cookies by large spoonfuls onto the pan
9. Bake cookies for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are nicely browned

Here is a picture of the cookies in the oven.  They are one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever tasted.  If anyone tries them out, let me know how they turn out!
